Hwy 22 Gym

General information

This is a declaration of intent. We here at the “22” want to be clear about why we are here and what we are about.
One: This is a gym for serious lifters. “Serious” has no relationship to the amount of weight you can lift, or how you look in the mirror. “Serious” means having a specific goal, showing up, and paying the wages of time, effort, and pain to be your best.
Two: When we say “strength is never a weakness” it is because we believe that physical strength is a base ingredient for empowering individuals to be the best versions of themselves, regardless if that version is personal, professional, or performance based. Lifting heavy things is not what we do here, it is merely the mechanism by which we overcome our mental, physical, and spiritual limitations.
Three: Our culture is about finding common ground under the bar. Here - discipline and intensity are meant to be contagious. Here - closeness comes from battling for a common goal and here… iron sharpens iron.
Four: Lifting weights is never, just, about getting results. It is also about finding a place that is safe to release your demons and purge the mental toxicity of modern life. For some, mental health and well- being can only be achieved via the threshold of experience. This is a place for both releasing monsters, and for taming them.
