WELCOME TO SUNRISE BAY
At Sunrise Bay Speech and Language Therapy, we assess and treat a variety of childhood speech and language therapy disorders. Sunrise Bay utilizes a research-based approach to therapy that is family-centered. We celebrate the strengths and uniqueness of each child and draw from their strengths to develop a therapy plan to meet their specific communication needs while promoting parent involvement every step of the way.

WHAT IS SPEECH-THERAPY?
Speech and language is often thought of as the same thing, but actually the terms have very different meanings. If there is difficulty with speech, the child struggles with the “how-to” of talking—the coordination of the movements and muscles needed to produce clear speech. If there is difficulty with language, the child struggles with understanding what is being heard or seen. A child may also have difficulty finding the right words and/or organizing those words in a meaningful way to communicate a message or hold a conversation.

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THERAPY AT SUNRISE BAY?
At Sunrise Bay, our mission is to create communication confidence by teaching communication skills directly within the clinic setting using treatment methods that are cutting edge and research based. We also focus on promoting skill development outside of the clinic setting in home and school environments. Children need to able to communicate confidently in all environments, and Sunrise Bay can help to make that happen!

PARENT TRAINING
Kristina is specially certified and trained to teach parents step by step strategies to turn every moment of the child’s life into an opportunity to communicate. Sunrise Bay also offers group and individual parent training sessions that focus on the child’s specific goals and provide structured training on how to best support the child’s goals at home.
