General information

Following in the traditional American entrepreneurial spirit, Bill Charlton opened his first trim shop inside his mother's garage in Saginaw. This was the beginning of Auto Interior Decorators.

By 1968, after gaining the trust of local car dealerships, Charlton gained the confidence he needed to move the operation from the garage to new location on East Genesee Street in downtown Saginaw. At this time Charlton and his staff installed vinyl and convertible tops on cars, they also did seat and carpet installation and repair.

Auto Interior Decorators remained at East Genesee until 1978 when they expanded to the busy Bay Road corridor in Saginaw Township. At this time they became a manufacturers distributor for three reputable companies, Webasto, E&G Classics and Vogue Tyre.

When sunroofs became popular in 1988, Auto Interior Decorators hustled to become sunroof installation experts. Parking became an issue at the business prompting the next company expansion and relocation to the current location in Kochville Township at 6284 Bay Road.

With the proliferation of online buying and selling, Auto Interior Decorator's has made a virtual expansion onto the Internet. The evolution continues with a growing list of quality products and services available to serve retail customers and automotive dealers.
