Road to Recovery is a nonprofit company that began its outstanding performance in 1977 in Blackfoot, Idaho as a response to citizen concerns with public intoxication. A licensed, non-medical detoxification program for residents of Bingham County was opened. Shortly thereafter, the Board and staff saw the need to provide long-term residential treatment services to those individual's suffering from years of alcohol abuse and a twenty-eight day treatment program was established.

For almost four decades, Road to Recovery has been delivering professional, high quality chemical dependency treatment and prevention services. In that time, Road to Recovery has developed a strong reputation within the treatment community, among consumers of service, and with state and federal agencies. All services have been provided using criteria from the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) for diagnosis, assessment, placement and treatment.

Road to Recovery is expanding services to include mental health concerns that often accompany substance abuse. Recovery is: "A process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.” (SAMHSA) Road to Recovery is continually evolving to meet the needs of the individuals we serve.
