Founded in May 1985, Celadon Group Inc. (NYSE: CGI) ranks as one of North America’s largest truckload carriers with annual revenue exceeding $550 million. Celadon has also been recognized as one of the safest truckload carriers with multiple first-place finishes in the Truckload Carriers Association’s National Fleet Safety Awards among carriers annually hauling over 100 million miles.

Headquartered in Indianapolis, Celadon employs approximately 4,000 employees and operates roughly 3,300 tractors and 10,000 trailers. Its customer base includes Fortune 500 shippers such as General Electric, Philip Morris, Wal-Mart, DaimlerChrysler, Procter & Gamble, and Target.

As a broad range truckload carrier hauling temperature controlled, intermodal and cross country loads, Celadon generally transports trailer loads of freight from origin to destination without intermediate stops or handling. The company operates in two main market sectors. In international operations, the company offers time-sensitive transportation in and between the U.S. and its two largest trading partners, Mexico and Canada. With approximately 150,000 annual border crossings, the company is believed to be the largest provider of international truckload movements in North America.

In addition to international business, Celadon also offers a range of truckload transportation services within the United States, including long-haul and dedicated. More than 20 acquisitions over the past five years have allowed Celadon to expand its operations and service offerings within the United States and significantly improve lane density, freight mix, and customer diversity.

Along with its truckload services, Celadon Dedicated Services provides supply chain management solutions and Celadon Brokerage Services.
